FINALLY. . . .a little bit of time

Here's why I have been so busy and not able to take time to post anything new.  :)  This first picture is me and Scott at the Regional Honors Choir performance.  Yes, he is much taller than me as I am wearing 3" heels.  It will be interesting to see how tall he actually ends up.

Here is my smiley 'cheerio' on their firetruck ride before going to State Competition.

This is Grandma, Alexa, and myself after the awards at State.  They took 3rd!!!!  Everyone was so excited.  It was a long year of work for the girls, (and stuntmen)

Jessica and Alexa showing us some facial expressions while holding the trophy!!!

Meg gets a photo, too!  This was on Feb 29th - our only snow day.  It was great snowman snow and she did a great job!!!

This is me being 'Grandma' out in Utah.  I got to go out for a very quick visit the first weekend in March.  Korbin was blessed on the 4th and he is so absolutely sweet!  He looks a lot like his Uncle Tim at that age.  I could hold and play with him for hours.

I got this really good smile the last morning I was there.  I took care of him so Mom & Dad could sleep in a bit.  A nice treat for all of us.  Such a short weekend, but oh so worth it.

Here is the quilt that I finished for my soon-to-be great niece.  Sorry about the mess - I was gone and no one watches things like Mom does.  Anyway, the flower petals are not attached to the quilt except at the centers.  I wasn't sure about the colors until I added the outside border and then it all just 'popped'.  Very bright and colorful.  I have left-over fabric and I will either make a matching pillow or animal to match.

These are my three (Alexa, Scott and Megan) who participated at District Solo & Ensemble Festival on March 10th.  They performed a trio together and got a 1st on their piece.  Alexa is going to State for her Musical Theater Solo, Vocal Jazz, Madrigal, and Vocal Jazz Madrigal.  Megan's Madrigal is going to State, too.  Then Alexa and Megan did a duet, which is also going to State.  A very successful year.  It was a crazy day, though.  There were 13 events between these 3 kids and I was able to see and record all of them!  It was amazing how it all worked out.  For each event there is an accompanist and to get the performer and the accompanist there at the same time is a miracle in itself because the accompanist plays at many events for the day.  It can be quite tricky, so to have it come together 13 times is amazing.

Lastly, here is my 'cow' bag.  This is the gift to the Cheer Coach from all 8 seniors this year.  I am calling it a Cheer First Aid Kit.  I need to get a second belt to match this one and it will be complete.  I couldn't find any cow prit denim/canvas, so I heat-bonded this cow print linen onto white denim.  It turned out way cool for me.  Usually when I begin a project without a pattern weird things happen, but this is good.  I even added pockets to the lining.  It just turned out quite a bit larger than what I figured, but still very nice.

I have asked the seniors to contribute to the contents.  It will have items like bobby pins, hair spray, glitter spray, maybe an ice pack.  Anything the cheerleaders would need could be put in it.  One other thing I need to do is to spray it with ScotchGuard.  That will keep it looking nice a little longer than without it.

Yup, I have been busy and we are getting closer to beginning the work on Scott's Eagle project - but aren't going there just yet or I may need some sedatives.   :)

Hope everyone is well and happy!
Life's too short to be anything else,

Love Ya,
